Foegelle’s Annual All-American BBQ
I am so excited to share the most fun Independence Day BBQ with you! This year, the Fogelle family scheduled their party for the 3rd of July, but the weather had other plans! Here is what Laura had to say about trying to reschedule their annual BBQ around the rain:
“It was a little crazy. The event had been planned two months in advance, so we had every detail nailed down. We even added a few new vendors this year, because each year the event gets a little bigger and we love it.
The original party date was scheduled for July 3rd, and as the weekend began to approach, thunderstorms were beginning to show up on the radar for the 4th of July weekend. In Oklahoma, that can change very quickly, so we continued with everything as planned. But by the time July 3rd arrived, we awoke to thunderstorms and the likelihood that they would return right around BBQ and firework time, so we knew we had to make the call. It was a little hectic, but we were able to reschedule ALL of our vendors to Monday, July 4th and keep everything planned as promised. I then began emailing, texting, or calling our guests to inform them due to the inclement of weather, and for the safety and enjoyment of everyone, we would be moving our BBQ to Monday, July, 4th.”
The Day of the Event
The Foegelle family thought of every detail – vendor t-shirts, patriotic decorations, sweet tea, freshly squeezed lemonade, volleyball, a photobooth, inflatables, a popcorn bar, a face paint artist, lawn games, grilled food, and a huge movie screen! Here are some of my favorite images from the event:
I asked Laura her favorite part of the BBQ and this is what she had to say:
“There are so many great things from games, to food, to movie. But my favorite part of the BBQ is really the atmosphere and fellowship with close family and friends. It’s one of our favorite holidays.
And the crowd pleaser, of course, is the fireworks display at dusk. It’s amazing. It is always the perfect end to the perfect evening.”
“We had an amazing turn out. It was AWESOME.”
